Our corner of Occitanie

" Notre coin d'Occitanie "

Between the Lauragais, the Canal du Midi and the Montagne Noire, we share our discoveries, encounters and lived experiences to explore Occitanie at a gentler pace, following the seasons and the landscapes.

Welcome to our corner of Occitanie, in southwest France

After a complete change of life, we chose to settle in Castelnaudary, in the Aude, and to renovate a 16th-century Lauragais farmhouse to open a guesthouse there. This immersion has opened the doors to a rich, contrasting region: landscapes that shift with the seasons, a warm and genuine welcome, passionate producers and craftspeople, villages and scenery shaped by history, and a thousand ways to discover the area, on foot, by bike, or around a shared table.

This blog was born from the desire to keep those conversations going and to share what we experience here: inspirations, itineraries, slow and sustainable travel,… to explore this corner of southwest France with curiosity and a gentle pace.

We fell head over heels for this wonderfully contrasting Occitanie: a mix of canals, rolling hills, mountains, markets, ancient stonework, charming villages and quiet paths. A place where you can be just as amazed by a landscape as by a meeting with a local producer, a regional recipe or a warm welcome. Every day, we love introducing the guests we welcome to our guesthouse to this area. Through this blog, we wanted to extend that experience. Here, we share our selection of ideas, itineraries and tips for exploring our corner of Occitanie with a curious mindset and a simple desire: to enjoy, to understand and to connect.
