Castelnaudary, Toulouse, Carcassonne, Mirepoix, the Canal du Midi… these names feel like an invitation to travel. But how do you explore them without rushing from one place to the next?

In this section, we share our itineraries in Occitanie. These backroads invite you to explore the region differently. Here, no rushed highlights. We focus on routes designed to take your time: cycling rides along the Canal du Midi, hikes in the Montagne Noire, and village-to-village escapes across the Lauragais.
The routes we share are the result of our local explorations. They are fuelled by our regular outings and our favourites as the seasons change. From Toulouse to Carcassonne, from the banks of the Canal du Midi to the first foothills of the Pyrenees, we love taking the paths that combine heritage, nature and encounters
Routes for every kind of traveller
Whether you are into cycling, hiking, or simply curious, you will find itineraries here to match your style. Some can be done in half a day. Others are better suited to a full weekend or even a week.
In addition, our routes very often include foodie stops and heritage breaks. We also love those small detours that give a real itinerary its flavour. Because beyond getting from point A to point B, it is the journey itself and its detours that matter, the unexpected encounters, the landscapes that reveal themselves little by little.
The spirit of our itineraries
Our routes are designed with a slow travel mindset. First, we favour low-impact ways of getting around when possible: cycling, walking, but not only, so we do not miss out on truly special places. Next, we highlight local producers and craftspeople along the way. Finally, we allow ourselves time to wander. Our corner of Occitanie is best savoured slowly.
How to find the right itinerary for you
